Tier 1 dependent visa -Housing contract question

Post by call2bala » Tue Dec 28, 2010 10:56 pm

Dear Folks

I m in UK for last 3.5 years and I have Tier 1 visa since March 2010.
I am going to get married in Feb and want to apply Tier 1 dependent visa for my wife from India.

Currently, I live in my town as a Paying guest with a family.

I just wondering whether i can live in a separate house or shared house(for 1 month ) before applying for visa.

It wud be grateful if you could answer the following questions.
1.Do i need to get a separate housing contract for a new flat for living?
or
Can i get a letter from my landlord and live in a shared house with my wife for 1 month before moving into a new house?

2. What would be the approaximate processing time for Tier 1 dependent visa from India?

Regards
bala

Bala,
To be on the safer side you need to move to a new house and show the rental agreement with a utility bill on your name along with NOC from the landlord.

Processing times in India is MAX 10 days for dependent visa.
