A1 English Language Test

Post by Maxy » Fri Jan 07, 2011 10:42 am

Hello Everyone,

So, my wife needs to take the English test - I've found a list of test providers on the UKBA website and found out that we can do it but only in London and at a cost of £150. This seems rather expensive for a 20 minute test and add the cost of travelling from Folkestone...it all adds up. I'm just wondering if anyone knows of any other test providers - language schools, perhaps - that I could contact or is London the only place to go.

I have to say that the whole thing is rather annoying. She was granted her settlement visa back in October, came over and we were married in December and now she has to take this test. Oh well, that's the way things are, no way around it.

Thanks in advance for any advice and happy New Year to everyone.

Max

Unfortunately you can only use the offical providers on the UKBA list.
It doesn't surprise me that the fee is £150 in the UK. I believe it converts from local currency to £90 in India!

Thank you. Yep, that's what I thought - bit of a stitch-up, I think. £150 is insane.
