Visa received - Query on dependent details

Post by agarwaka » Thu Jan 06, 2011 6:58 am

Hi,

First of all, many thanks to everyone for the information and support provided through the site - appreciate it!

Just got my visa today and noticed that though my wife got her visa (dependent) as well, her details have not been updated in the dependent details' section in my visa. It says: No. of depdendents: 0

Additionally, in her passport, above the visa, there's a handwritten note, "dependent of X XXX'

Wanted to check if this is okay or should I write to the UKBA for rectification, if any.

Thanks!

Hi agarwaka,

The "No of dependents: 0" is normal, everyone panics when they see it for the first time, dont worry about it.

The hand-written note is unusual, but should not be a cause for concern.

I would say sit back, relax and plan your UK trip.

Cheers

opinion

In my opinion, If u have time u must go to BHC and check it with them and take something in writing, if they don't allow u to enter or meet some one contact them via e-mail, If i was you i wont want to have trouble when i land in UK with my spouse. So contact them atleast if u get the e-mail clarification u can carry that e-mail printout with your papers when u land there. Just to be shure.Congrats and best of luck for your future.

Hey..so a quick update, veering on the side of caution, I contacted VFS & the UK HC Visa helpline, and got a positive confirmation from both. Will take along a printout while travelling.

Cheers!
