HSMP Tier 1 (General Partner) Dependent to HSMP Tier 1

Hi, can anyone please let me know the process of getting hsmp dependent visa changed to hsmp tier 1?
I am a citizen of India and am on HSMP General Partner (dependent) at the moment. I am working in the UK for the last 6 months.
Would like to get my visa changed to HSMP Tier 1. My current visa is valid until April 2012. Will i have to wait until then or will i able to do it before that, in case i am eligible for it ?
If yes, can i do it from the UK?

Apologies for my loads of questions
It would be really helpful if anyone aware on this information can share across :)

No, this cannot be done. Before you would have to return to your home country and apply from there, but since Tier 1 General is closed permanently for overseas applicants, it is not possible anymore.

Just stick to your present status,at least there is no restriction for you as well
