Query about full & final settlement - upliftment factor

Post by nkumarsingh » Thu Dec 23, 2010 11:00 am

Hi everyone,

I was transferred to the UK branch of my company on Tier2 (ICT -Skills Transfer). I entered UK on 3rd October 2010. My company paid me full and final settlement (I resigned from India branch and rejoined the UK branch) which was credited on 28th Oct 2010 in my India bank account.

Can I use the upliftment factor for this amount? Using the upliftment factor is critical to me reaching 80 points.

Thanks

If the FnF earnings were for the period prior to 03 October then you can uplift your earnings... and submit the FnF letter as proof of earning along with the bank statement....

upliftment factor query again

Post by nkumarsingh » Sat Jan 08, 2011 10:15 am

Hi everyone,

I've another query regarding upliftment factor. I cam to UK on business visa for a period of three weeks. I was paid my Indian salary in INR in indian bank account and Per-diem allownaces in UK.

Can I use the upliftment factor for my indian salary for this period?

I've searched the forum and read many such cases. Most probable the answer is No, But I'm still confirming as I'll fail the points criterion if I am not allowed to use the upliftment factor for this period.

Thanks.

No, as you earned this money while you were in the UK. The currency which you earned it in does not matter.

Which exchange rate to use...

Post by nkumarsingh » Fri Jan 14, 2011 4:07 pm

Hi everyone,

I came to UK on 3rd Oct 2010. My full and final settlement was credit in my india account on 18th Oct 2010.

1. So which exchange rate should I use 3rd Oct or 28th Oct or 31st Oct. I'm claiming Indian salary component from 1st Nov 2009 to 3rd Oct 2010.
I wouldn't have asked but I don't qualify if I use the 3rd or 31st October rate. I'm okay with 30th September.

2. I joined my indian company on 26th Oct 2009. But I got the 6 days pay in my Nov 09 Payslip. Now I'm claiming for the period Nov'09 to Oct'10. Will the full salary credited to my account in Nov be considered or the salary for Oct which was given with the November salary will not be considered?

I'm planning to apply on Monday 17th Jan. Please help me out. These questions might seem trivial but they can affect my application (so please bear with me :) ).

1. 3 October 2010
2. No, the gross portion earned for October 2009 would have to be excluded from your gross earnings (it would have to be deducted if you claiminig from Nov 09 to Oct 10).
Do not send me PM's with specific questions - post question in the open forum so others can also benefit from the answers.
