Tier 1 visa - extension

Post by prakashm » Thu Jan 13, 2011 1:28 pm

Hi,

My tier 1 visa is expiring in Jan 2012. Right now I am in UK and hopeful of gathering all the required points for extension.

However, with the new tightening of the rules for Tier 1, will extension be denied? Pls confirm.

Also, I havent applied for a Tier 1 dependent visa for my wife and son. I plan to apply for this in April. Will this be a problem considering the current situation? Also, the points required for them would be same as what I needed when I applied in Jan 2009?

Regards,
Prakash M

So far you meet the requirement under transitional arrangement which will be put in place after April 2011,you will be able to extend your leave to remain.

Will it not be considered retrospectively? As in the candidates who has got their Tier 1 visa before a certain date will have to qualify for X number of points. OR is it going to be wiped out completely to start afresh with the new requirements? Pls confirm.
