Tier 1 dependents

Post by suzyelphi » Mon Jan 17, 2011 12:00 pm

Hi all,

I have a query regarding dependents on a tier 1 visa. My husband is on the work permit scheme and is going to apply to switch to Tier 1 from within the UK (myself and our daughter are dependents on the work permit and live in the UK too).

We are considering that myself and our daughter live half the year in South Africa & half in the UK (swallows, essentially!). If I am a dependent on tier 1, would I have to get entry clearance every time I enter the UK if I am out of the country for more than 90 days at a time?

For example if my daughter and I are in SA for 3-6 months, would our visas/entry clearance lapse, or can we come and go as we please? (we are not planning on applying for indefinite leave to remain)

Your input would be greatly appreciated!

:)
