Tier 4 Student can convert into HSMP

Post by fnashiq » Fri Jan 21, 2011 10:51 pm

I came in UK February 2008 as a student and now recently (few days before) I got PSW. I just want to know can I apply for HSMP based on my last job which was from February 2007 to February 2008 in my home country. One of the conditions to apply for HSMP is to show the job period in last fifteen month but I am doing study in last fifteen month.

Waiting for kind response.

Regards,
Farhan

No, you cannot consider a period earlier than the last 15 months becuase you were studying.

Student period is counted in last fifteen month or not. Bez I heard some one that student period did not counted and before that is counted

See Tier 1 General Guidance (HSMP route no longer exists)

http://www.ukba.homeoffice.gov.uk/sitec ... idance.pdf

"The applicant can claim points for 98. previous earnings in any single, consecutive 12-month period during the 15 months immediately before the date of applying. An applicant may claim points for a 12-month period of earnings outside of this 15 months if they can show that he/she has been:
away from the workplace for a time during • the last 12 months because of a period of maternity or adoption-related absence."

So no you can't claim for a period of earnings outside the last 15 months unless the reason why you were away from the workplace was because of maternity or adoption related.
