spouse visa queries

Post by AO9 » Fri Jan 21, 2011 4:02 pm

Hi Guys,

I just came across this forum by accident as I am preparing to submit my wife visa application (just waiting for her to do the IELTS), and BELIVE me when I say this; in the past week this site has been more helpful than another other site along with the UKBA website. :D

Getting to the point, Can my uncle (Holland national) be a sponsor to my wife, even though I am applying to bring her to the UK, on a marriage visa? –

Just so that you can understand the reason why I am contemplating in having my uncle as a sponsor is that he has a good set of wealth and saving, whereas I make an income of £1,000 a month and £700 is spent averagely on bills, rent (I am on a secure tenancy) and etc………I have no saving, no property, I’m young and a recent graduate  (my situation makes me nervous in applying)

Your help will be greatly appreciated………and I am grateful for your help and advices

Cheers,

AO9

P.S I’m submitting my application in Syria, can anyone give me tips, advice and information about them 8)

As far as i understand it the husband MUST be the wifes sponsor, i believe you can use family members to help support the visit financially with all the necessary paperwork.
hope this helps

I got married last July, through arranged marriage which has been a blessing for me and my wife, do you guys have any advice on what I should be on the lookout for or what I should show, perhaps communication with my wife

Secondly, my uncle and father-in-law who set-up me and my wife, want to write a joint letter saying that they set us up and their both fully support our marriage but they have no idea what to write on the letter or how to write it and nor do I, perhaps you guys could show me template or samples of where I could get this from…..

Many thanks guys and I appreciate all the help

Hi AO9

I do not think that you need some sort of a letter from your relatives to details all the arrangements, although it won't hurt to include them. Just write it as a letter explaining how things advanced into a marriage (tell the story).

Arranged marriages is not something new, so ECO are well aware of this. What you need to do I think is mention all the details on how you met your partner, how talks were advanced into marriage, when did you meet your partner, when your parents/guardian met your partner's parents/guardians etc. Just write all the story about the arrangement of your marriage and include all the evidence of your marraige such as marriage certificate, marraige pictures, pictures of your previous visits if you met your partner before marriage etc. You just need to make sure that explain everything in your statment and provide all the evidence of your marraige.

Hope this helps.
