Urgent Help req:Switching frm Tier 2 (in UK only since 1 wk)

Post by admishra » Tue Feb 08, 2011 5:29 pm

Hi People
I have just arrived in the UK on a tier-2 (ICT)visa; and would like to take a chance to apply for Tier-1 before april deadline. Am fine on the past earnings and qualification perspective; Here are basic questions which I have:-
1. I have a family of 4 -myself, wife and 2 kids; how much maintenance funds do I need to show? Since I have just arrived, all my earnings/maintenance funds are in India.
2. My wife and kids would be joining me later in April. Would they be able to apply for tier-1 dependent visa then (assuming I get the tier-1 by Apr)
3. I have seen discussions around FDs in India being considered as maintenance proof as long as a bank letter accompanies certifying that they are encashable immediately. Would like to validate that- esp if someone knows of a recent case where this was taken. I can submit FD certificates in orginal along with a letter from the bank stating that these are "encashable immediately upon request of the holder"
4. What happens to my Tier-2 visa in case Tier-1 application is rejected on any grounds?? I hope that stil remains valid; and my family can come on Tier-2 dependent visa?

any help in this regard would be most appreciated. looking forward for quick replies.

regards

yes you can use money in indian bank account to prove this... about the money please read the policy document for exact figure... i think it will be 800 pounds (only for you not for your dependents)

2. My wife and kids would be joining me later in April. Would they be able to apply for tier-1 dependent visa then (assuming I get the tier-1 by Apr)

i doubt if you can apply for dependents visa from here in your case as you need to submit passports to HO but i am not sure about this check with other members

yes you can use FD check these discussions

yes T2 will remains valid if T1 gets rejected... (as long as your application is not rejected for deception and you are not asked to leave the country... i am not being harsh but realistic)[/url]
