dependant visa query

I am a Tier-4 student, studying masters course at university since September 2010. My bf is also on Tier-4 visa studying degree level course, his visa expires on December 2013. We are planning to get married in Sep/Oct this year (back in home country)

I want to switch to dependant visa. My question is, if we both get permission to marry from home office (COA) then is it possible to register our marriage here in the UK without the proper ceremony etc and then on the basis of that, can I apply for leave to remain or entry clearance?

(I don't mind going back to my home country to apply for fresh entry clearance. )

Irrespective of whether you marry in the UK (subsequent to a CoA approval) or you marry outside the UK, you will need to make an entry clearance application to change your status to that of a dependant (319C(h)).

thanks for the reply. just 1 more question, what is the right procedure to get married in the UK if we both get the CoA? There r 2 ways I can think of:

i) give notice to registrar and then apply for entry clearance from back home.

ii) belonging to muslim faith, get it done in a mosque or any designated religious place.

please guide wat is the correct choice out of above 2 options & if possible refer to the appropriate link.

A marriage in a mosque in the UK is not recognised as a lawful marriage in the UK.

If you want to lawfully marry in the UK then once you hve your CofAs you will need to register your intentiont to marry with your local registrars and then have a civil marriage ceremony not less than 16 days later.

If you do not intend on getting married in the UK there is no need for the CofA
