tier 1(G) 2nd extension

Post by RaviSS » Tue Mar 01, 2011 10:22 am

Dear friends I am new to this board.
I had my tier 1(G) approved with validity from 10th March 2009- 10th march 2012 and I entered UK on 10th of Feb 2010 and remained in UK except for 20 days in between.

now my questions are
1. Since tier 1 visa is closed from 6th april 2011 will I be able to extend my visa for next 2 years

2. even after 1st extension I will not be eligible for ILR as i will 10 month short of 5 year stay in UK and will I be eligible for 2nd extension to achive the 5 year eligibility of ILR
I Really appreciate if some knowledgable members clarify me on the above 2 questions.

Thanks

Yes to both the questions.
A letter of intent has been published which supports this. (Check UKBA site).

Final verdict is yet to come but shouldn't be a deviation from letter.

1. Yes, you will be able to under current rules.

2. Yes, as long as you will qualify, since the rule are similars. But you will lose your age point at that stage, so you need to balance it with your salary or qualifcation.

Hope it clarifies

Since no one knows the rule at that point, but according to the current rules, you will be eligible to apply under the rule you initially applied.
