Urgent!Employed but company director(one among 6 other direc

Post by reachpras » Sat Mar 05, 2011 1:29 am

Hi I am applying for my ILR this wednesday(9th). I am a company director (not sole) but alongwith 6 other directors and all of us are equal share holders and all of us are EMPLOYED by the company and have contracts to prove this

The UKBA information says that if one is EMPLOYED then proof of salary (i,e pay slips)s will suffice and other dcos like company accounts, company regn docs, bank statements of company etc are NOT needed so I am not taking other docs.

Can anyone advice please? if I need to take more docs can someone suggest what need to be taken?

Thanks in advance

The question is - what if the caseworker asks for these documents (that you do not intend to carry with you)?

If he / she asks for them and you are unable to comply to the request, the decision on your application may be deferred until such time that you submit them.

It is in the interest of the applicant to prepare for the worst and hope for the best. It is up to you if you want to do both, or just the latter.

I will leave it to others, more knowledgeable on the matter, to answer the second query.

makes perfect sense. As you say the process isnt quite clear :). I had expected to take my contract of employment to prove that I am indeed an employee of the company but reckon it all depends on the case workers discretion so I better take the docs.

In this case can you suggest what docs I should be taking? I shall get my accountant to provide me with these before wednesday.

Many thanks for your kind advice. Greatly appreciated

Slight correction to above: Your contract only proves that you are employed on the date when the contract is signed. What do you expect to happen if you leave the job? Do home office / employer come to your house and destroy your copy of contract to prevent misuse.

Salary slips and other financial info proves continuous employment.

I guess you are mistaken!

I had mentioned that I wanted to take contracts of employed to prove that I was Employed as opposed to Self employed and not in any other context. I already had mentioned that I had payslips and other financial info

Nevertheless job done and reckon home office has better things to do than come home to destroy docs!!!! ;) and guess my shredder will do the job
