Planning2 apply for Spouse settlement visa-lost old passport

Post by Mohammad24 » Sat Mar 12, 2011 6:19 am

Hi,

I'm intending to apply for a spouse settlement visa within the next few months.

I've recently discovered that my old passport is either lost or stolen. I'm now worried that this may affect my UK spouse settlement visa application, as I will be unable to fill sections relating to previous travel history to UK and other countries, as I don't remember the dates, etc off hand.

Can someone confirm whether this can impact my application?

I do have my current passport, which also contains some history-including a UK multi-entry visit visa, along with other visas.

Please help.

Thank you.

If you are unable to remember exact dates - put rough dates and include a note in the application explaining the previous passport has been lost.

I would file a police report to include with the application to prove it's been lost.

Thank you for your reply.

Getting a police report is a good suggestion. Do you think if I do that, and put approximate dates, it will be acceptable?

Thanks.
