P60 and continuous employment , plz advice

Post by MPI » Fri Mar 04, 2011 4:23 pm

Hi , I have couple of questions :

1-One of my P60 missing , shall I ask my employer for that period to send me one? I remember they posted me a copy of P45 and not P60. Is P45 copy any good?

2-If they said they are don’t have the record , what other options I have ? shall I ask them for all my pay slips? Original P45?

3-Is there any other source for P60 I can request to ? HMRC?

4- This is slightly different : I have seen many post about ILR here mentioning ‘continuous’ employment and warning that bad things may happen to you if you change employer or out of work for long .

Is there a requirement that you should be employed non -stop for 5x12 months anywhere?! I am contractor and naturally gaps happen between employments. We normally are paid higher to compensate the fact and this very normal in our sector. What implications this may have for me when applying ILR? i.e. many employers and gaps between them.

Thanks in advance

You can call HMRC and ask to send "employment History" from xx to yy. You will get withing 10-15 days.
