funds - dependant visa

Post by july2010 » Mon Mar 28, 2011 7:30 am

Presently I am in india, before travelling to UK I am planning to apply for dependant visas for my wife and my son. I have more than 6000 GBP(2800 + 1600 + 1600) , in my fixed deposit account. This amount I am holding for more than 6 months.
I added my wife as a joint account holder one month back. Will this have any impact while going for a dependant visa. Shall I need to wait for 2 more months before filing the application as she has been recently to my fix deposit account. Please advice.

Fixed Deposist accounts can not be used for proof of maintenance. Unless it can be shown (e.g. via bank letter) that they can be access at will at anytime with no notice etc.

Ok! I will get a letter from bank stating that, I have the fixed deposit account with the bank and this amount can be utilised by me any time, without any notice to bank.
I will also submit my fix deposit original bond with the application.
But my question here is my wife has joined me in this account 1 month back, though I have this from 6 months. Do i need wait for additional 2 months?
