On the uk border agency website i found somehting which says, apply if u dont know which form

and there it says you can apply from abroad as the partner or spouse of a resident in the uk, for 2 years

cant she apply for that before we're married? seems to cover both doesnt it?

She can apply as a spouse or partner if either:

1) You're married

or

2) You've been living in a relationship akin to marriage for 2 years (which practically means living together).

These are the options that were outlined by sushdmehta earlier.

And to be clear - these can only be applied for from abroad. She will not be able to switch from a visitor entry clearance (either a visa or leave given at the airport) in the UK.

Yeah, i guess im resigned to the options now.

Get married there and they stay there for 2 months ish whilst she applies, then come back with her.

Or

Get married legally on one of my short trips there, start the application, and hopefully have it done by the time we have our wedding ceremony. Then fly back together.

Thanks people

One final thing....

Is there any website that lists everything you need to include in a marriage settlement visa?

from start to finish, ie bank statements, photos, letters, house details etc?

I know what form now but i have no idea what i need to include. using a company to help u thru it costs just as much as the form, cant afford that :S
