Difference between Recognised Bodies and Listed bodies

Post by Sinner » Fri Apr 01, 2011 9:44 pm

I am confused about the difference between recognised bodies and listed bodies. my institute comes in the listed bodies but not in recognised bodies. According to changes coming into force in april 2012 ' student is allowed to work 20 hours per week if he/she is studying at recognised bodies ( universities ) , i am afraid does this effects listed bodies students as well? just for more info. Currently i am doing ACCA professional stage which is NQF 7, and my institute is highly trust.

1A United Kingdom recognised body is an institution which has been granted degree awarding powers by a Royal Charter, an Act of Parliament or the Privy Council. All United Kingdom universities and some higher education colleges are United Kingdom recognised bodies.

2.A United Kingdom listed body is an institution that is not a United Kingdom recognised body but one which provides full courses that lead to the award of a degree by a United Kingdom recognised body.
