I take it this would be noted on your passport? ie entry and re-entry visas or stamps. I would not be taking any longer periods of the state for a while if i were you. It does not prevent you from leaving every now and then, but three months absence is quite alot. (I am aware many immigrants would take their holidays in batches of one month etc as it would not be worth their while going away for just 2 weeks, afterall, many hail from the other side of the world)

You should be ok, but you need to be careful.

Roughly, on what basis were you out of the country?

Hi walrusgumble, just a clarification,
How do they know that he was away while there is no stamps for leaving Ireland being stamped in your passport?
The only stamp you get in your passport is when you are entering the country.
peace on you

Hi walrusgumble, just a clarification,

The only stamp you get in your passport is when you are entering the country.
I was referring to any stamp that may be entered into the passport from the country that the person enters, and not Ireland. Some countries like CHina would stamp a nationals passport for entering and leaving the country.

eg Passport stamp for entering eg Pakistan was say 18/3/2011. And the exit stamp/visa says 18/4/2011. This is on the same or next page. Well it would be reasonable to assume that these two stamps relate. I also refer to this on the assumption that the op is a non eu visa required person. OP can clarify

Either way, that is why payslips and bank statement are required. I see what you are saying, i would agree with you, but care should be taken all the same
