Status in expired passport

I have my residence issued in a passport that was expired prior to HO issuing the residence permit. My passport expired in 2009 as my case had been with the HO for more than 3yrs. Finally the status was granted and issued in my passport that had expired a yr before. My representative had sent a letter requesting i am issued with an immigration status document since I am at the moment unable to get a new passport from my country because there is unrest in the country i am a national; Ivory Coast. Can anyone help me with an advice on how to get the immigration status document. I am finding it difficult getting a job with the status in an expired and at the moment jobless.

I think you are on the wrong board here, its the UK board you should be posting. By the way you can apply at Ivory Coast Embassy in Lonodn http://www.ambaci-uk.org/ to extend your passport i hope they should be able to help you on that one.
