I would like to request the moderators to kindly update the HSMP FAQ post on this board with regards to HSMP change of practice with respect to need for original evidence for Age proof.
Me included, I have seen two other cases where age proof documents were either sent in unnotarised (where notarised copies were expected i.e. Passport copy for age proof ) or notarised copies were sent in where original documents were expected ( Again License in this case).
I can see that this is tending to happen because some people still are referring to the old guidance notes which had the "notarised" word missing for the Passport copy.
I ended up sending in notarised copies of both the passport/license as I misinterpreted the following statement in the guidelines:
The "notarised copies of the personal details passport page or driving licence" can be slightly ambiguous in the first glance where it may mean that send in notarised copies of your passport or license.Official documents such as birth certificates or notarised copies of the personal details passport page or driving licence are required as proof of age for applications from individuals under 28 years.
I would rather have that statement re-phrased as:
Anyways, it may not be in my hands to change the guidance notes, but if we can explicitly mention in the HSMP FAQ post, the need for original documents clarifying when notarised copies are accepted, it would be really helpful for new HSMP applicants.Official documents such as birth certificates or license or notarised copies of the personal details passport page are required as proof of age for applications from individuals under 28 years.
