Cas issued before 21 april

Hello.
Currently i am on tier 4 and my visa expires on 28th june,
My college has agreed to issue me a cas number before 21st april but they will not give me the letter until i show them my bank statement so that i will be on old rules.
Now, the problem is my bank statement will be ready on 15th may.
I want to ask can i apply on or after 15 may?,because i heard you need to apply within 28 days of your cas issued.

Where did you hear that? The Cas is valid for 6 months.

Might be a rumour.

If you read the tier 4 policy guidance you will see it is just that-a rumour.
