WP holder not living together with their dependant

Hi,
Do you know what happens if a WP holder gets a dependant visa for their spouse and then they both live in the UK, but not together (but share the same bank account)? Will there be a problem when the couple applies for the ILR?

a11, can you be more specific about the relationship. Even on a part-time, maybe weekend, basis, if there any way that this can be described as a normal husband and wife relationship?

Sharing a bank account suggests that the relationship has not totally broken down. Is it the case that they both have works and live apart during the week, but spend most weekends together? If not, how often do they see each other? And if infrequently or never, why a joint bank account?

Thanks for your reply, John. Yes, pretty much so. The proportion of weekends spent together is difficult to determine yet, as the people in question are yet to decide whether it is safe enough (in terms of the ILR) to get jobs at different places and spatially separate. Do you think this will be ok and if so, what kind of justifications do you think will be required?

If they really are still a married couple do they still use just the one address for important documents such as bank statements?

That is, would a fair interpretation be that they have a family home, which they share, but one of them also has accommodation that they use during the week?

If that is indeed the case I would not expect them to encounter a problem them both getting ILR. There is no specific requirement about a married couple actually sleeping together every night! Many people need to travel because of business.
