Child

Post by rakesh5883 » Sat Apr 30, 2011 4:20 pm

Me and my wife are currently residing in UK on a Tier-1. We are expecting a baby by the end of this year. For the pregnancy we will be going to India.
I need to know the exact procedure to bring my child 2-3 months after the birth.
So I will have to apply for a new passport and a fresh tier-1 dependant visa also ? Could you please help me through it ?

Why not?
1. Child will need a passport to travel abroad.
2. A child is also a dependant just as a spouse / partner is. So to live in the UK with you, the child will need to apply for entry clearance.

We had to fill a FLRO dependent application. You will need birth certificate of the child / passport / your documents used at the time of your visa.

We had got this done in UK as the child was born here. unfortunately cannot help with the time line.

FLR(O) is for in-country application (and also, not meant for Tier 1 dependant(s)).
