indian with residence permit wanting to bring wife to UK

I am an Indian national with a residence permit for UK, I would like to bring my wife who is also an Indian national to live with me in UK, she is currently here on tourist visa. I wanted to know how we can go about getting her visa changed or what to do next for both of us to live in UK as residents

1. She cannot change from visitor to another immigration category from within the UK.
2. What type of "residence permit" do you possess?
