Tier 1 Extension - Documents , Early Extension

Hi,

Please can someone guide me with my Tier 1 extension application:

I got my entry clearance from India in 2008 and now wish to apply for my extension. I have following queries:

1) The UKBA site doesn't state states the documents that are required for Tier 1 extension but doesnt mention anything about any photocopies. Can someone confirm if this is not required?

2) For English Language & Qualifications no evidence needs to be sent as this was already submitted during initial Tier 1 application. But this application was done in India? Is that still ok if I dont submit any proof during extension.

3) My tier 1 is expiring on 10th Sep. But I am planning to apply for 7th May which is 4 months prior to my expiry. Will they still consider my application and grant me a visa after my expiry.

4) Finally how much points would be awarded for Age. I got 20 points for my age at the time of my initial tier 1 application. Will I get the same points during extension.

1. No photocopies are allowed. You need to send original documents. Read Tier 1 guidance notes..everything is written there. I dont know where have you been searching on UKBA site

2. For English language you do not need to send any addtional evidence as you have met this requirement in the past.

For education you do not need to send degree, just ticket the relevent option in form where it states 'degree previously supplied'

3. You better apply about 1 month before the expiry of visa. If you apply early then there is a risk of you not getting post dated visa

4. You would get same number of points as you got them in your inital application i.e 20 points (for sure). Read the relevant page of T1G form about claiming points for age, your dobuts will be cleared.

Thanks you for answering my queries.

1. I just asked whether we need to send photocopies as well along with originals. I know its not mentioned anywhere in UKBA but I had to submit my photocopies as well during initial Tier 1 application.


2. No further questions. Answers my query

3. I have to apply for other visas which I cant do with this 4 month validity visa. Also by June I will have to update my visa status in our HR as per the company rules. Hence the rush. In case if I do, can I give them a valid reason. In case if they dnt consider, worst case I will have to apply for an additional extension which anyways I have to as I came to UK 2 months after my visa was stamped. Apart from that do you forsee any other problem?

No, you do not need to send photocopies (your question was not very clear)

No, you do not need to apply for 2nd extension under recent revision in ILR rules. If you came to UK within 3 months of getting EC then you do not need 2nd extension. Search the forum or search my previous posts to read full details.
