Renewal Stamp 4

Post by BDHostclub » Sat Apr 30, 2011 7:24 am

Hi I have query about renewal my stamp 4 as a separated person . I married an Irish citizen in 2007 and got stamp 4. Since 2009 we are separated and my wife wants to get divorce. My stamp 4 will expire in 7/12. Am I able to renew my stamp 4 without her as a separated person? It will be my 5th years Ireland.

Says I won’t able to Renew but I am just wondering it’s only for new application or me also?

If you're lucky enough to go to a Garda station for renewal where they personally know/remember you, you might get lucky and they could just renew without asking for any documentation. If you don't inform them of your separation (and if they don't ask), they may not know.
Otherwise, the advice I was given was to write to the INIS spouse section a couple months ahead of your stamp 4 expiry, explain the circumstances and hope for the best. Being employed/not claiming benefits is obviously a must, and I was told having health insurance would help too.
