Tier 1 extension. latest rule Highly skilled Job.

Sorry if this has been answered somewhete but i could'nt find a clear answer

I am due to apply for my tier 1 extension in March 2012.
Recently home office released a question answer clip through immigration minister Damien Green. In there he clearly states that for a Tier 1 visa holder to extend they need to be in highly skilled job.
Could someone please clarify if this is the case. Have they released any list for graduate level jobs like canada and australia. I have been searching the forum and some say yes and some no. So which statement is correct. Please clarify.
Or is it that this only applies to work permit holders. If so excuse me for the silly question.
I am just sick of home office changing goalposts every 2\3 months. Thanks.

Decision on an immigration application is not based on "question answer clips" or "media statements" - but are based on immigration rules.

For current eligibility criteria, refer to the relevant immigration rules and the relevant policy guidance. No one can tell you today what the rules may be in the future.
