Dual citizenship wants to bring Canadian spouse and children

Hello all!

I looked at marriage visa's, but they required that I was a resident in the UK. I'm living in Canada with a dual British/Canadian citizenship due to migrating as a child. We've been married the best part of 10 years and have a work opportunity in the UK. Is it easier/better to apply for him to work there with a work visa or should I try to get a marriage visa? Or is there some other way to go about this. I've checked and I can get the kids passports without any pain.

Does anyone know anything about this?

My husband has dual citizenship for Canada and the States, does that pose any complications or can we completely ignore that?

If you have a confirmed job offer in the UK your best and most sensible option if you intend to settle here is to apply for a Spouse visa for your husband. As you've been married for more than 4 years and living outside of the UK for the whole of this time he can apply for ILE with KOL required.
This will give him the right to apply for ILR (Indefinate Leave) to remain in the UK once he has passed the Life in the UK test (KOL). This isn't a test of his level of English as such. It covers UK customs, politics, social history and law. If he visits the UK before returning to Canada to apply for the visa he could take the test while he is here. If he passes he could then apply straight away for Indefinate Leave from Canada. He will need to cover chapters 2-6 of the official study book or CD.
Apart from the financial aspect of showing you can support the family on your earnings without claiming Public Funds, you'll also need to show you will have adequate accommodation available for you all on arrival. Having been married for 10 years with children you shouldn't find it difficult to show the marriage is genuine. He would be entitled to work without restriction on arrival with his spouse visa.

Thank you for the info! It's not confirmed at this point, but we're evaluating how much time to sink into moving over to the UK. It's a balance of, uprooting family vs career move. Any idea on costs please?

That's quite a lot. We'll really have to look at what we'll be earning, what we could sell our house for etc...
