Tier 4 Dependant Visa

Post by Ekta_GD » Thu May 05, 2011 11:54 am

hi everyone,
I am on a Tier 4 (General) visa in UK since Jan 21st 2011 and my husband applied 2nd time for a Tier 4 dependant visa on the 31st of March. He had applied first on Feb 15th and his application was refused with the reason that he did not provide photographic evidence of contact between me and him(Just the marriage certificate was not sufficient apparently). So he re-applied on March 31st with photographs and other evidences of contact between me and him. His application status is "Visa application under process at the British High Commission" Does anyone have any clue about the processing times for Tier 4 dependant visas. He has applied from the Mumbai(North) vfs application centre. Also does anyone know if there are currently any delays in visa processing times in Mumbai or any technical issues causing delays? I am getting very anxious as the days just go by without any update on the visa.

Thanks.

My friend's wife applied for a dependant visa (can't recall which Tier) and it took her 5 working days in Mumbai. She applied in Feb 2011.

Wow !!! 5 working days. That's neat. Wish that were the case with us too...Thanks krazydude for your reply. When we called the vfs helpline, we were told there were some delays due to a large number of applications received. We were expecting it in 15 working days but its been more than a month now. Is there anyone else here who applied for visa around the same time(end of March) from Mumbai and is still waiting for a decision?

:) Thanks sushdmehta. Have seen those at least a 100 times now. I am assuming Tier 4 is a non-settlement application here. But does that mean we have to wait for all of 120 working days until we ask for any further information?

Thanks,
Ekta.

@bold - Sorry, but that was the most recent case that I know of.

No, it means that even if you ask for "further information", BHC is under no obligation to provide you with one .... until CSS is exceeded.
