Refferees?

Post by devdp » Sat May 07, 2011 4:43 pm

Do both refferees have to be British Citizens?

Can I give the mail refferee as a Professional in India (Nationality Indian - not british)

I have another one refferee who is a British Citizen/passport holder working/living in UK

will that work? or do both the refferees need to be british citizens?

not really...

excerpt from the guidelines:

One referee should be a person of any nationality who has professional standing, such as a doctor, a minister of religion, civil servant or a member of a professional body, e.g. accountant or solicitor (but not representing you with this application). A list of acceptable
professional persons can be found on our website.

The other referee must be the holder of a British citizen passport and either a professional person or over the age of 25.

So does this mean - I can give the Primary Refferee as a Dentist from India who has known me and my family for years? He is based in India and does not have any British Citizenship or anything.

And in the secondary, I can give a friend who is a British Citizen/passport Holder and works as an IT Manager in London

Or would it be a better idea to make the latter who is based in UK the primary refferee and find another refferee from UK itself to be a secondary one?

What do you think?

Thanks
