Dear Friends,
First of all it was really nice to see this board its very helpul and many thanx for the advisors here.

My question is related to Applying Permanent Residency OR Naturalisation .. I will Highlight my conditions from start might be helpful studying..

I am Non-EU citizen, i arrived in Ireland in May 2004 On STUDY Visa. and after 1 years due to some reasons i couldnt renew my student visa , i was illegal working in Ireland Unitil 2007 and in July 2007 i was married in Ireland to my cousion she is British National and i was been granted EUFAM 4 Visa in JUNE 2009 ( METOCK CASE ) .. Since then till now we are living together now 4 Years together...

So My Question is as i was Married in 2007 and Granted EUFAM 4 in 2009
SO marraige period is 4 Years now AND EUFAM Period is 2 Years now..

SO WHEN CAN I APPLY FOR MY PERMANENT RESIDENCY OR NATURALISATION ? After what Condition and Time i am Eligible to apply for that...

Your Help will be Appreciated.

You can apply between December 2013 and January 2014
In another word six months prior to the end of your GNIB Eufam4 card.

If it is a week less than 5 years, the application will be returned for the Naturalisation, so the best time to apply will be any date after end June 2014.
The 5 years will need to be complete.

I think El-Shadai was referring to the EU permanent residence application. Yes, you can make the EU permanent residence application six months before the expiration of your 5 years residence permit or in actual fact five years after you started residing legally in the state.

Naturalization is apply to become an Irish citizen. Applications can take up to 4 years to be processed and there is no guarantee of it being approved.

European law PR can be applied for 5 years after you started residing in Ireland as the family member of an EU citizen. So 5 years from your marriage. (Exactly when your 4EUFam was issued does not matter).

That is correct. However just to clarify, the above statement is only relevant if you actually got married in Ireland and have been resident here since then.

So lets be even more clear:

If you marry while living in Ireland, it is 5 years from the date of your marriage.

If you are married and then move to Ireland with your partner, it is 5 years from the date of entry into Ireland.

Exactly. You can apply for PR 5 years from your marriage.
