Form 16 or SARAL

Hello Friends

I am applying for HSMP. I have changed employers in the last 12 months. To prove the past earnings, I can submit the Form 16 given by the company, pay slips, bank statements etc.

Should I definitely submit the SARAL as well. To be honest, If need to get the SARAL for the last 1 year, then I will have to pay additonal IT of Rs.40,000 which I am unable to do now.

Please advise me.

No, you can just provide the Form 16 and Saral form is not required...Form 16 is well enough proof of your earnings....additionally you can also provide the PAN card photocopy and not original to prove that you are a tax payer in your country...that is not mandatory but I did provided it...

Can anyone else confirm this please. I just had a friend saying Form16 is not official tax document and SARAL is compulsory.

I can say so as I have done the same thing at the time of my HSMP application and the HSMP team had absolutely no objections to it...Saral Form just show your IT return and not the earnings...ultimately your earnings in the Form-16 is the thing displayed in the Saral Form and your Pan Card can prove that you are the tax payer...hope that helps....

i agree with Ashekt's and back up his comments.
form 16 + bank statemetns + salary slips + pan card
= these are suffice to prove your earnings.
