Accommodation requirements all too confusing please help!

Dear All,

We are making an application for my step son who is 17years old to come and join us my question is this we live in a 2 bed house currently residing there are as follows:

Me
My husband
My son 8months old
Our daughter 5 years old

My question is if we partition the main room to make to smaller rooms could my local estate agent class this now as a 3bed house?
I say this because within the main room to be portioned there are two central heating’s two windows and the room is 16ft by 8ft big enough.

So in theory this could be classed as a 3 bedroom?
My council have said yes to the partition Any advice welcome thanks stressing now as time is getting closer to applying

Thankyou so are you saying that I could say my house is 3bed once converted as both rooms although converted would be more than 5o square feet?

if so how would I refer to this without being cheeky in my support letter lets say?

Becasue as it stands under the housing act my house can only accomadate 3 people? of course there will be 5 people which is more than enough if you have a 3bed house? hope I am making some sense here

If you add a room in your home under the provisions of the law (e.g. - housing act) and with necessary permissions, then the new room can be counted, provided it meets the (quoted) requirement(s).
