How soon can I apply for Tier 1 extension?

Post by buzz_dilli » Mon May 16, 2011 9:45 pm

Hi folks,

I have tried to search through many threads and cant find a sure shot answer. How soon can I apply for Tier 1 extension? My current Tier 1 visa takes me to say 10 Aug 2012. And also, what is the typical processing time for this? It will be great to know some estimates.

Thank you for your comments.

Cheers!

You can apply any time. But you will get 3 year extension from the day home office stamp your passport not from Aug 2012.

Processing time vary from time to time from 1 - 3 months usually. These days its taking around 2 months.

Thanks for the prompt response Rizwan.

The processing time seems to be on the longish side. So does this mean that the passport would have to be submitted for all this time or does it only have to be submitted at the time of stamping? Any chances of applying for this extension in person where the response can be had sooner than later.

Cheers!
