HSMP under 28 - EXPERIENCE section

Post by CrystalCanada » Mon Jul 17, 2006 6:11 am

Hi there...
I am applying for HSMP under 28 and have exactly 65 points as of Aug 1, 2006 when I hit my 4 year anniversary at my job. My application is complete but I am waiting until Aug 1, 2006 to mail it.

THE PROBLEM: The letter from my employer dated July 11,2006 states that my service began on Aug 1, 2002. The Caseworker guidance notes state that the Caseworker should only count experience from start-date to the date of the letter (a few weeks short of 4 years)

My friend is leaving for the UK on July 31 and I had planned to send the application home with him to save on courier charges.

Should I:
1) request another letter after Aug 1 and mail the app myself
2) send application on Aug 1 with my friend and send supporting document with correct date AFTER

or...could I explain in a declaration that my job is a permanent position which will definately extend past Aug 1...and that when reference checks are completed with my employer it can be verified that I have been employed for more than 4 years.

SIDENOTE: when I read previous postings I see many people referring to a Sheffield address. I have PO BOX 551 Doncaster, South Yorkshire DN1 1XU as the address. It may be a silly question...but..just want to make sure my app makes it to the right office.

I suggest you get another letter from your employer dated after your 4 year anniversary. You dont want the application getting rejected for something as simple as this. better to be safe than........
