65 year old mum (holder of British Oversea Citizen Passport)

Post by nightstar333 » Thu May 19, 2011 12:23 am

I am married to a UK born citizen & settled in the UK (have been for 20 years)

My widowed mother who is 65 years old is currently residing in Pakistan.

She has held a British Overseas Citizen passport since she was 10 (over 50 years) & she has visited me in the UK over the years, so is familiar with the UK.

I understand that it may be possible for me to invite her to stay with me in the UK on a more permanent basis as I am realistically the only one who can now look after her due to various changes to circumstances back in Pakistan.

Initially I was told I could apply for her to stay with me as a 'Dependant Relative' but now I am told because she is a British Overseas Citizen passport holder, it might not be as complicated (or expensive) a process.

Your advice is appreciated.

I think that she would face the same process.
