Can i Delay my flying after getting EC??

Post by ashishashah » Wed Jul 19, 2006 9:24 am

Hello All,

I am confused abt. what to do now ??I got my HSMP last week..

I wont be able to fly immediately as i need to wind up few things, but by the time i leave(Oct 06) ,job market will slow down..

My question is "Can i delay my flying after getting EC??" ...
I am aware that you can fly any time after getting EC, but i dont want to get rejected by Imigartaion officer at Airport if i fly 3 months after EC..(he might ask that "what took you so long to come, even after getting EC"?)

Also will it hamper my chances of extension in future??

Or shd. i go for EC later (when i am ready to fly)??

Thanks
Ashish

i got ec on 1st august & fly in second week of October i.e. after 2 months last year.
Give pre-fix interviews once landed & Got job in week time. Better prepare urself by applying in jobserve & monster site. See if you can have ur in personal interview fixed from India.
No need to rush. Once here , without job every single day will be heavy. Pound is very expansive.
Best of luck

The best way is to obtain the EC arnd Oct'06. If you have recently obtained the HSMP approval then u can apply in the first week of Oct as it take just 3-4 days to obtain the visa and then can travel immediately.

As per the job, I think you can come in Oct'06 and look for the job and start meeting consultants. Not everybody is lucky enough to get the job or interview fixed being in your own country but you can still give it a shot. I can say so b'coz I tried doing it but did not succeed. I came to UK in Dec'05 and that time the job market was very quiet but i don't think it is too slow in Oct. I got a job in a month's time well I had my preferences for a good job and not just anything and that took me that long.
