Please Help!!! Maintenance funds questions.

Post by savvy » Wed May 25, 2011 12:14 am

Hello all!

Okay, so here's the story. I applied for a PBS TIER 4 visa about a month ago (april 21st), gathered all of my documents, and foolishly lost my passport on the VERY day I was supposed to mail everything to the consulate....Finally, two weeks later, I have a new passport and am ready to apply for a new visa.

HOWEVER, I just had a few questions, especially regarding the bank statements. I'm using my parents' as evidence of funds to show the 1600 pounds I need for my stay.

Now I'm a bit concerned because I know I need an updated copy of their statement since the ones I was going to use for my old application are now outdated... The main reason I'm a bit stressed is because if I apply today or tomorrow, There is this one brief moment (on May 12th) where the account balance dips belowt he required amount for LITERALLY two hours, but then immediately my father replenished the money (with cash) that same day, so the balance for that day was above the required amount.

I know on the UKBA website it says ""we will not accept statements which show the balance in an account on a partiuclar day as these documents do not show the applicant holds enough funds for full period needed" "

But does this mean that if I have my father get an Ad-hoc statement he can't get one that shows the daily balances for 28 days??? Do they really need to see EVERY single transaction? Or is this just referring to if the bank writes a letter saying the current balance on a single day??

Any input/help is greatly appreciated! Thank you so much!

What the UKBA means by saying that they will not accept statements which show the balance in an account on a particular day is that they will not accept statements which just show a balance on one day rather than a 28 day period.

If you provide statements which show that the funds dipped below the required amount (even if it was for 2 hours) then a strict caseworker will use that to refuse you.

You might be better off getting a letter from the bank confirming your minimum balance for the 28 day period unless your statement doesn't obviously show that you went below the amount for the two hours in question.
