Applying for Tier 1 General (within UK)

Hi There

I am already in UK for the last 12 months on Tier 2 General visa.

Am I in the eligible immigration category to apply for Tier 1 General from within UK ?

The below information in the UKBA site isnt very clear.

No, Tier 1 (General) is completely closed unless you already hold a Tier 1 (General) visa (e.g. it is ONLY available for extensions, no more initial applications).
