VAF9 and visa valid start date queries

Hi,

I have a few questions relating to the application of a Tier 4 student visa and the VAF9 form that needs to be filled in as part of it.

I am a British citizen located in Turkey enquiring on behalf of my Turkish partner.

Firstly, I have been informed that the date the visa is vaild from can vary from the day of issue to only 15 days or so prior to the beginning of the study course. On form VAF9, it asks ‘on which date do you wish to travel to the UK’.

My first question is: Is the visas valid start date determined according to what date is filled in on the form, or is it random?

Secondly, WorldBridge informed me that for 12 months or more courses, students can enter the UK a maximum of 1 month prior to their course start date. We would ideally wish to enter about 2 months prior to her course start date.

My second question is: Is it possible to request that one of the 4 months extra stay she would get after completing her course could be used prior to its commencment, therefore leaving her with 3 months leave to remain following her course?

My third question is: Can the above request be detailed in the ‘additional information’ section of form VAF9?

My fourth question is: If a date more than one month prior to beginning of course start date is filled in on form VAF9, is the form rejected or is just the date disregarded?
