WP Original approval letter missing

Post by girishm » Tue Jun 07, 2011 12:54 pm

Hi,

Many Thanks for all the info on this site.
I have got my ILR application in person due on 15th June 2011. Following are the dates and categories on the basis of which I am applying for ILR:

10 Jul 2006 - 16 Jan 2009 Work Permit (Working with company A)
17 Jan 2009 - present Tier 1 General (Working with company A for some time and switched to company B)

I have got a couple of questions:

1) I am missing my original Work Permit approval letter from Home Office (I do have a copy though). Although they haven't asked for this document in the SET(O) form, do I need original for it? In which case how can I get it, if so?

2) I am going to take an Employment letter from my current employer. Do I also need a letter from my previous employer, given that I was on a work permit whilst with them?

I will appreciate any guidance on these questions.

Thanks,
Girish.

You need to get employment letter from the current one but with TIER 1 i don't think itis a must. With the old employment P60's should do the trick

Many Thanks blay1 for your reply. Okay so P60s should do for the old employment.

But what about the original Work Permit approval letter? Is it something they ask for too?

Hi riojamel, apologies I am not sure about your question as I am applying as a Tier 1 applicant. I believe this applies to the WP applicants.

From personal experience ( http://www.immigrationboards.com/viewtopic.php?t=78933 ), I wasn't asked for my work permit documents. Even I had misplaced one of them. They did ask for a letter from the employer, although they were not too fussed I did not have one. All the best.

Thanks guys for all the help. I got the ILR for myself and the dependent on 15th June at Croydon PEO. Will post the details on how it went separately.
