Is Biometric required for ILR?

Hi Guys,
I was wondering whether biometric is required for ILR in case a person is issued with the T1(G) Biometric card for extension (although initial was HSMP) Pre-Nov 2006? Like is ILR issued in the form of vignette or Biometric card?

Thank you for the reply sushdmehta. I read it. So we won't need biometric as it is only required for extension of visa on temporary basis NOT required for ILR.
