Biometric residence permit?

Biometric residence permit?

Hi Guys,

I have been going though the required documentation for ILR and it has mentioned something to do with a biometric residence permit. I have been in the country for 5 years now and this was only implemented in 2008 so never was issued one in the first place. I will be applying under UK ancestry using the SET(O) form.

Have gone through the forums and it swings between people having them and people not so have no idea if this is needed!

So will I need this permit to successfully apply for ILR?

Any help would be much appreciated!
