Citizenship for my Good lady wife

Post by lionking007 » Wed Jun 22, 2011 6:18 pm

Dear Comrades,

Hope you might have an answer (am confident, you will)

I have just been granted the Naturalisation Certificate yesterday.

I was wondering if my wife can now apply as a spouse of a British Citizen.

I have been in the UK from 2002. Married her in April 2007; She came with me to the UK in May 2007 as a Work Permit Dependent

We got our ILR in March 2010 last year. (I got it as WP holder completing 5 yrs) my wife got her ILR after 3 years.

Questions are:

1 --> Has she got to complete 5 years before she can apply for her Naturalisation??? OR

2 ---> As I have now been granted Naturalisation, can she apply as a spouse of a British Citizen even though she came here as a WP dependendent and got her ILR????

Any advice as always will be greatly appreciated.

Thanking you all in advance for your continued support & co-operation

Cheers

She can apply now as a spouse assuming she meets the standard requirements.
