HELP ME -CAN i use my parent's bank account to apply Tier 1?

Post by Wendy239 » Sat Jun 25, 2011 12:10 am

Hi there,

I am very worried at the moment :"(.
I have just finished university and my visa will expire in the end of August.
The problem is my bank statement in HSBC is not enough 800 pounds in some days, so I can't use my bank to apply Tier 1. I know that is my fault because I don't notice the rule....
Do you know there is any solution for me?
My mother has a bank account in my hometown in nearly one year. But I am not the joint holder. Can I use her account to evidence my funds?
I have her letter confirm that she will pay everything for me during the period I stay in UK (like Tier 4). How do you think?
Please help me.

Many thanks,
Wendy

How about my bank account in my hometown?
I am in UK now but my bank account in oversea, so does it mean my account need a least 2.800 pounds (in UK border rule)?
or I just need 800 pounds?
And if I can use it, besides bank statement do I need bank letter?
Many thanks,

I think that you may use multiple accounts, as long as they meet the specifications.

If you are applying from the UK then the maintenance amount is £800. It is irrelevant whether the account is inside or outside the UK. You only need a letter if the bank statement doesn't fulfil the requirements-see link vinny posted.
