Is it necessary to submit BANK STATEMENTS?

Post by alice121 » Fri Aug 04, 2006 5:47 pm

Hello everyone. I am a non EEA married to an EEA citizen and posted a topic regarding EEA1 and EEA2 a couple of days ago. I have come up with another thing to worry about - the application form says I need to provide my EEA spouse's bank statements. He is a free-lancer and his income is far from regular. For the last three months or so, his bank statements do not look good at all (and in fact, overdraft). Even though he is economically self-sufficient (he has NOT been receiving any kind of public funds for a long time) and he is working really hard with good salary at the moment, this thing really worries me!

So my question is - is it absolutely necessary to submit bank statements? Even in such circumstances? If it is, is there anything I can do to make it look better?

Many thanks in advance.

If the form says provide bank statements, yes it means provide bank statements!

Do appreciate that the non-EEA family member is not allowed to claim certain Public Funds. But the finances of the non-EEA family member will often show that to be the case.

No doubt the EEA Citizen is paying the right amount of UK tax and national insurance!
