ILR qualifying period

Post by Gamini » Sat Jul 02, 2011 11:14 pm

I am in five years work permit. My entry clearance was stamped in 14th September 2006. I came to UK on 29th September 2006, 15 days later. I am eligible to apply ILR this year.

New UKBA guidelines says that Qualifying period can be counted from the date visa is stamped. Whether this is the case for those who entered 28 days after visa is stamped.(Before 3 months)

What is the earliest date I can apply ILR?

Sorry,if the topic was discussed earlier.

Assuming your current leave expires on 14-Sep-11, apply no earlier than 28 days before the 5th anniversary of your entry in the UK as a WP migrant.

Thanak you very much for your response Sushdmehta. Yes, my visa expires on 14th Sep 2011. I am confused because when I spoke to UKBA customer care, I got a response that the earliest date I can apply is 17th August 2011
