Sending additional info the ECO - Spouse Visa

Post by josepha » Sun Jul 03, 2011 5:48 pm

Hello,

My hubby applied for his spouse visa over a month ago in Zim. At the time he submitted his application he was advised by the British Embassy and VFS staff that an ECO had discretion to accept his Life in the UK test certificate as evidence that he can speak and understand English.

Two weeks after submitting his test he took the TOEFL test and we have just received notification of his results and he passed. We are still waiting for a decision on his visa application.

My question is - can we send additional information (his TOEFL certificate) to the ECO? I have heard conflicting info on sending more evidence.

Any help in clarifying this matter will be most appreciated.

While you can send additional / new documentary evidence(s) to support an application submitted earlier, and the same should be taken into account if a decision has not been made by then.

What is important is to make sure you know where to send such new / additional evidence(s) and to whom should you address it to ... to ensure that the information gets included in the case file before a caseworker makes a final decision on your application.
Life isn't fair, but you can be!
