ILR (17 yrs Continuous residence) Complication, please help

Hello everyone and thank you for your contributions. I'm just wondering if i can still apply for ILR under long residence. This is my summarised story:

entered uk illegally in 1992 was 14yrs old.
applied for ILR in jan 2008 based on 14 yrs long residence
got married to british woman april 2009, then the pressure began, wife wanted to travel for honeymoon, holiday etc.
after waiting for almost 2yrs and no news from HO, we changed the application to spouse which was refused.
in oct 2010 we moved to ireland under eu law
now returned to uk under eu law after 6 months.

I would love to apply for ILR the moment i can afford to pay for it. I need to know if i can still apply for it.

If you were away from the UK for more than six months, then continuous long residence has been broken.

If you were away from the UK for more than six months, then continuous long residence has been broken.

Also, if you switched your application to be considered under spouse rules, and subsequently recieved a refusal, this may also have stopped the clock.

@xyz123 thank you for your question. yes, i returned to UK on EEA FP and my employment record has been regularised. i.e the ni and tax paid over 7yrs have been credited to my account.

vinny and greenie, i thank you for your responses. but before the refusal and moving away, i have already accummulated 17yrs of unbroken residence. does it matter whatever happened after then? thank you for your effort.
